Nothing To Lose: Foreign Cinema and the Position of the Child » SeparationTwoShotFatherSon

A Separation focuses on many different relationships being revealed for what they are or coming undone. Within the limits of this film, Nader shows how deep his relationship with his father is, thus emphasizing even further the film’s concentrating on the parent-child relationship. While the primary parent-child examples are with children who have yet to reach maturity, this relationship is with a parent who has reached maturity and is on his way out.
